Inmates Complete Life-Changing Drug and Alcohol Program at Grayson County Jail

On Friday, October 20th, 2023, a significant milestone was achieved inside the Grayson County Jail, as the Grayson County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) and The Solutions of North Texas successfully concluded the first 12-week Drug and Alcohol Program for inmates.

The program, aimed at rehabilitation and equipping participants with essential skills for their post-release lives, saw its first group of inmates complete the course. The participants diligently attended classes every day, actively engaged with program facilitators, and absorbed valuable knowledge to aid them in their journeys beyond the jail walls.

Importantly, this program offers participants the opportunity to continue their growth and self-improvement independently after their release.

One graduate of the program expressed their gratitude, saying, "Sheriff Watt, thank you so much for allowing the Solutions class into GCSO. It truly has been life-changing. I look forward to taking the skills taught in the class and applying them to become a productive member of society."

Sheriff Tom Watt, with over 40 years of experience in law enforcement, also shared his thoughts on this accomplishment, stating, "Bringing this program into the jail has been a highlight of my law enforcement career that spans over 40 years. We know the skills and techniques that were learned by these participants will impact their future in a positive way. We look forward to continuing this program inside the facility to impact as many people as possible."

The success of this initiative owes much to the joint efforts of The Solutions of North Texas, dedicated GCSO staff members, and, of course, the program's participants.
