On Thursday, September 19, 2023, at 11:00 am, a routine traffic stop in the 200 block of 16th SE put Paris Police officers in contact with several individuals, ultimately leading to a significant arrest.
During the traffic stop, officers detected the strong odor of burning marijuana inside the vehicle. Further investigation led to the discovery of a bag in the glovebox, which contained multiple credit cards that did not belong to the driver, Monica Lorraine Mitchell.
Ms. Mitchell was subsequently charged with Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information. Authorities believe that there were at least ten victims of the stolen credit cards.
