Healthcare and community members gathered at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs on Thursday, October 12, to celebrate the unveiling of the new CT Scanner. The event marked the completion of a two-year project, involving the renovation of a specially lined room to accommodate the new equipment.
Funded by CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs and the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation, the day featured remarks from Foundation Chair Maleta Reynolds and CMF-SS Chief Nursing Officer Anitha Sanderson. The equipment received a blessing from Fr. Justin Wylie, Manager of Pastoral Care, along with Andy Navarro, Vice President of Mission Integration at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances, and Sister Rose Marikudi, a member of the Sisters of the Mother of Mount Carmel.
During the event, Reynolds highlighted the collaborative efforts of Hopkins County Hospital District, CMF-SS, and the Foundation in providing high-quality local healthcare to the community. Sanderson emphasized the necessity of the new CT Scanner, which is the second one in use at CMF-SS. Originally estimated to be used seven times a day, the scanner is currently in operation an average of nine times daily, a number expected to rise in the future.
