The Greenville Independent School District (ISD) was abuzz with excitement last night, September 27, 2023, as it hosted its inaugural "All Pro Dad Draft Day." With dads, school staff, and community members coming together across the district's ten chapters (campuses), the event was a remarkable display of unity and shared enthusiasm.
The event's festivities began with Board Trustee Roger Livingston, who set the stage for the evening's activities. He emphasized how programs like these are instrumental in propelling the district, its students, families, and the community forward.
However, the highlight of the evening came from a passionate local community member and father, Matthew Middleton. Middleton delivered a heartfelt speech, stating, "It takes a village, and strong fathers are an essential part of that village. All Pro Dads is a remarkable organization dedicated to tackling challenges head-on. By bringing fathers together for meaningful activities with their children and offering valuable resources, All Pro Dad equips fathers to become the role models their children need."
The excitement reached its peak as Superintendent and Draft Commissioner Sharon Boothe began announcing each chapter's selection. Team captains stepped forward to receive their All Pro Dad t-shirts, symbolizing their commitment to the program's mission. And what better way to conclude an eventful night than with hamburgers, smoked sausage, and cookies, bringing everyone together for a communal meal.
The All Pro Dad program has ignited a wave of enthusiasm in Greenville ISD, strengthening the bond between fathers, families, and the community, all while helping build a brighter future for the district's students. The district extends its gratitude to fathers, families, and community members for their partnership in helping Greenville ISD move forward together.
