Steve Harvey is bringing his many talents to the Grand Theater inside Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant on Sept. 30.
A natural born entertainer, Harvey has tried his hand at just about everything show business has to offer and succeeded. He’s well-known as the longtime host of “Family Feud," where his comedic timing and quick wit shine, but his career began with stand-up comedy. He began performing in the mid-1980s and by 1997 he was touring with Bernie Mac, Cedric the Entertainer and D.L. Hughley. He retired from comedy in 2012 after a long, successful career.
Though Harvey was done with comedy, his career didn’t slow down any. He starred in “Me and the Boys,” “The Steve Harvey Show” and “Steve Harvey’s Big Time Challenge.” Harvey also landed numerous movie roles, showing up on the big screen in “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Madea Goes to Jail” and more.
Off the screen, Harvey is a radio talk show host and a best-selling author. He penned “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy, and Commitment” and “Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to Find, Keep, and Understand a Man was also a New York Times best-seller. Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success: Discovering Your Gift and the Way to Life’s Riches.”
Harvey’s career as an author led him to focus on motivational speaking and sharing the wisdom he’s gained over the years, which is what he’ll be doing at Choctaw Casino & Resort this month. Harvey’s show is billed as “a motivated concert,” with the talk show host giving a motivational speech and opening the floor up for a Q&A with the audience.
Harvey will be in action on Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Grand Theater. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $89.50 to $220 for prime seating. To purchase tickets, click here.
