The Titus County Sheriff's Office recently uncovered an illegal narcotics operation being conducted through the popular social media app Snapchat. On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, narcotics investigators successfully apprehended the individual responsible for the illicit activity.
The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Garrett Lee Phillips of Mount Pleasant, was contacted by narcotics investigators on Snapchat, leading to a narcotics purchase. This transaction ultimately resulted in Phillips' arrest on charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2A.
Following Phillips' arrest, investigators executed a Search Warrant at his residence, located on Titus County Road 4840. During the search, 27-year-old Sandy Padilla of Cookville was found to be present at the location and was determined to also reside at the residence.
A thorough search of the premises revealed approximately 9 pounds of suspected marijuana, 9 jars of THC Wax, and 96 THC Vape Cartridges. As a result, Sandy Padilla was placed under arrest, facing charges of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, and Felony Possession of Marijuana.
In light of the discoveries made during the execution of the Search Warrant, Garrett Lee Phillips faces additional charges, including Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, and Felony Possession of Marijuana.
Both suspects, Phillips and Padilla, are currently held in Titus County Jail.
