The Gregg County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death in the Bella Terra subdivision in North Longview. Deputies responded to the area on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, and identified the deceased as 62-year-old Matt Elza Hipke of Longview.
Gregg County Justice of the Peace Pct. 1, B.H. Jameson, pronounced Hipke deceased and ordered an autopsy. The Sheriff's Office stated that this is an ongoing investigation but they do not believe there is any danger to the community related to this incident.
No further information is being released at this time due to the active investigation.
