A resident returning to their home on Deacon Dr W at The Barracks Townhomes on Easter Sunday night called 911 to report a suspected intruder.
College Station Police officers responded and discovered an open window with the screen removed. Upon entering the residence, officers located the suspect hiding in the upstairs attic.
The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Toan Hoang Phuc Tran, was taken into custody. He reportedly admitted to entering the home earlier in the day, stealing property, and then returning to the residence where he was apprehended. Tran allegedly allowed officers to retrieve the stolen property from his home.
Toan Hoang Phuc Tran has been charged with Burglary of a Habitation.
The College Station Police Department is encouraging residents to lock their doors and windows and consider investing in security systems for added safety.
