Prosper Police Make Two Separate Drug Arrests During Traffic Stops

Prosper Police Department officers made two separate drug arrests during routine traffic stops on April 8th and April 15th, 2025, highlighting the effectiveness of proactive policing.

On April 8th, an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and detected the odor of marijuana. A subsequent search yielded a loaded firearm, 15.3 ounces of marijuana, 19 grams of cocaine, and 8 grams of amphetamine pills. The non-Prosper resident driving the vehicle was arrested on multiple felony drug charges and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

On April 15th, officers conducted another traffic stop for a violation. The non-Prosper resident driver admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle, and a search revealed marijuana, 64 Xanax pills, and 2 grams of concentrated THC oil, leading to an arrest. Further investigation by Prosper Police detectives led to a search warrant at the driver’s residence in a neighboring jurisdiction, where nearly a pound of marijuana, .5 grams of cocaine, and 2 grams of concentrated THC oil were discovered. This driver was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3.

The Prosper Police Department commended their officers for their diligence in these cases, emphasizing how routine traffic stops can lead to the discovery of significant criminal activity and contribute to the safety of the Town of Prosper.
