College Station Police Department (CSPD) SWAT and Hostage Negotiations Team responded to a call for a civil disturbance in the 500 block of Southwest Parkway on Friday morning, where a victim reported being held against their will with several children inside an apartment. The victim also stated the suspect had threatened them with a weapon.
Upon arrival, officers learned the victim had managed to lock herself and the children in a room while awaiting SWAT. CSPD SWAT made entry into the apartment and successfully rescued all the children and the victim. The suspect was quickly taken into custody.
Authorities reported that none of the children sustained any injuries. The adult victim is being treated for minor injuries resulting from an assault.
The College Station Police Department has stated that this is an active and ongoing investigation, and further details will be released as they become available.
