The Pegasus Project Horse Rescue is bringing back its popular "Wings Over Pegasus," an exciting event combining airplanes and equines, on Saturday, April 19th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place at the 95-acre Pegasus Ranch, located at 7111 FM 2339 in Murchison, with the breathtaking airshow starting promptly at 1 p.m.
Wings Over Pegasus promises a family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of aerial displays, including skydivers, airplanes, and helicopters. Spectators can look forward to performances by Stephen Covington in the “Fury,” Miles Turner in his RV-4, the NextGen Eagles Formation Aerobatics Team, Mark Mastren in his Super Stearman, the Eagles Nest Formation Team RVs, and more.
Beyond the airshow, the event will feature face-painting, a visit from the Easter Bunny, an Easter egg hunt, gourmet food trucks, a raffle drawing for two roundtrip tickets on Southwest Airlines, a tennis ball toss contest, and a flour bomb competition. Guests will have opportunities for photos with various aircraft, the Pegasus rescue horses, and "Pegasito," the winged-donkey, at his kissing booth.
Attendees can also meet, pet, and even finger-paint the Pegasus rescue horses. Pegasus trainers and staff will be on hand to share information about the horses and discuss adoption and sponsorship opportunities.
Parking for the event is $25 per vehicle. Pegasus merchandise, food, refreshments, raffle tickets, and participation in games will be available for purchase. Event sponsors will enjoy benefits such as free parking, premier airshow viewing, a VIP tent with lunch catered by Montez Brothers, and other perks.
"Wings Over Pegasus is a wonderful opportunity for our team to welcome the residents of East Texas onto our ranch to help spread awareness about at-risk horses in our community," said Allyson DeCanio, President of The Pegasus Project. "The day is a celebration of our fantastic rescue horses in need of loving homes. The cool airplanes and amazing airshow attract a wide variety of people to the ranch where they can personally connect to the magic of Pegasus."
This event serves as a crucial fundraiser, raising awareness and support for The Pegasus Project's year-round efforts to care for neglected horses in East Texas. Founded in 2010, the organization has rescued, rehabilitated, retrained, and rehomed hundreds of mistreated horses, donkeys, and mules. The public is invited to enjoy the day and contribute to this worthy cause, with all proceeds directly benefiting the horses of The Pegasus Project.
