Grand Saline Police are searching for a suspect who fled after a high-speed motorcycle pursuit early Thursday morning.

At approximately 1:00 AM on April 3rd, Grand Saline Police were alerted by Mineola Police about a blue sports motorcycle traveling west on U.S. 80 towards Grand Saline at an excessive speed of 122 mph. Grand Saline officers located the motorcycle, but the driver accelerated to 140 mph. The suspect then turned north onto Main Street and changed directions multiple times.

Due to the suspect's erratic driving and concerns for public safety, police terminated the pursuit.

Shortly after, officers responded to a call reporting a motorcycle crash on Main Street near Cate Street. They found the motorcycle and a helmet, but the rider was not present.

Residents in the area then began reporting a male subject running through yards east of the crash scene. Authorities established a perimeter and used drones to search for the individual throughout the night and early morning. The last reported sighting was around 6:00 AM at the corner of Cate Street and Main Street.

Grand Saline PD stated that it is currently unknown if the suspect is armed or should be considered dangerous, and the reason for evading law enforcement is also unclear.

The suspect is described as a slender white male, possibly of Hispanic descent, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing white tennis shoes and possibly white and dark colored shorts with a darker colored t-shirt.

Anyone who sees this individual is urged to call 911 immediately or contact the Grand Saline Police Department's non-emergency number at 903-962-3145. The public is advised not to attempt to make contact with the suspect and to allow law enforcement to handle the situation.
