Wylie Police Warn of Dangers in 'Senior Assassin' Game Involving Realistic-Looking Water Guns

The Wylie Police Department is expressing concern over a trend among some high school seniors playing the game "Senior Assassin," where water guns are being altered to resemble real firearms. While acknowledging the desire for seniors to enjoy their final year, police are emphasizing the potential dangers and unintended consequences of making toy guns look authentic.

The Wylie Police Department stated they are aware of the "Senior Assassin" game being played throughout the community and have responded to multiple calls involving students pointing these realistic-looking water guns at each other. These incidents have triggered emergency police responses and even led to a lockdown at one school campus.

"Though this may seem like harmless fun to participants, there can be unintended consequences," the Wylie Police Department said in a statement. "Oftentimes, these water guns resemble real firearms or they are altered to look similar. We take all reports of weapons being displayed in a threatening manner seriously."

The department reiterated that they will continue to respond to and investigate any incidents involving the reported use of a gun, regardless of whether it is a water gun or a replica.

Wylie Police are urging parents to have conversations with their children about the risks associated with playing games that involve pointing perceived weapons at each other in public. The concern is not with the game itself, but with the modification of toys to appear as genuine firearms, which can lead to serious misunderstandings and potentially dangerous situations.
