Greenville Updates: Street Repairs, Library Events, and Community Activities

The City of Greenville has provided the following updates.  

Public Works & Engineering
Contractors continued street construction on Ablowich Drive this week, completing the main roadway. Crews have begun forming sidewalks from Sayle Street to Monty Stratton, though weather conditions may delay further progress.

W. Walworth Harrison Public Library
On March 22, patrons participated in STEAM Saturday, constructing bridges. Upcoming events include:

• Bouncing Babies Storytime – March 28 at 10 a.m.

• Tales from the Doghouse – April 1 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

• Echoes and Narratives – April 3 at 6 p.m.

• CHEF's Book Club – April 4 at 12 p.m.

• Bean There, Read That Book Club – April 5 at 10:30 a.m.

• STEAM Saturday (Constellations Theme) – April 5

Library programs Room 2 Bloom, Bright Beginnings, and Cook a Book will not be held on April 4.

Farmer’s Market
The 2025 season kicks off on April 5 with new hours: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. More details on participating vendors will be released soon.

Main Street Events

• Free Opera Showing – March 29 at 11 a.m. at Texan Theatre

• Music Bingo – Every Friday, 7-9 p.m. at Landon Winery

• Sunday Funday – $9 mimosas all day at Landon Winery

• Wine Down Wednesday – Hosted by Landon Winery & Fatto a Mano’s Pizzeria

• Creative Spot Gallery Mixed Media Class – March 28, 5-7 p.m. ($30 per person)

• Rain with Bird Class – March 29, 4-6 p.m.

• More Than A Boutique One-Year Anniversary Celebration – March 29, 7-9 p.m. (doors open at 6:50 p.m.)

Parks and Recreation

• Park Maintenance – Soccer and baseball fields have been repainted, and restroom facilities have been improved.

• Recreation – Registration is open for the 8 Ball Shootout doubles pool tournament. Homeschool PE is now enrolling, while the first tennis class is underway.

• Golf – Irrigation system repairs are ongoing. The Tuesday Scramble and Thursday Shamble events continue to see high participation at Wright Park Municipal Golf Course.

  • Chair Yoga on April 28 at 10:45 a.m.

Upcoming Events

• Easter Eggstravaganza – April 17 from 5-7 p.m., featuring 30,000 eggs, a kid zone, food trucks, vendors, and a coloring contest.

• Food Truck Fridays – Vendor applications open for events on May 2, 9, 16, and 30.

Sports
Youth baseball and softball practices are ongoing. Adult Kickball registration is still open, and the Parks Department is hiring umpires for the upcoming season.
