A 60-year-old Sunnyvale man was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by a pickup truck on the north service road of US Hwy 80.
The Mesquite Police Department responded to the crash at 5:56 a.m. in the 100 block of US Hwy 80, where they found that a 1998 Chevrolet C10 pickup had collided with a pedestrian on a bicycle. The victim, identified as Wendell Voyles, was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup, Luis Quezada, 49, also of Sunnyvale, initially fled the scene but later returned. He was arrested and charged with Collision Involving Death.
The Mesquite Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing its investigation.
