On Friday, March 7, 2025, a joint operation involving the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team, DEA, HSI (Homeland Security Investigations), and Hunt County Deputies resulted in the shutdown of a major illegal drug operation in Van Zandt County.
Authorities executed a federal search warrant at a property north of Interstate 20. As a precaution, the Van Zandt County SWAT vehicle and DEA SWAT vehicle were deployed to provide protective cover during entry.
The operation led to the discovery of a drug manufacturing facility and the arrest of three individuals. Federal officers took all three suspects into custody.
“This is yet another example of the willingness of the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office to work with other agencies to ensure the safety of our citizens,” said Sheriff Steve Bridger. “We are grateful for our working relationships with our partner agencies and the progress we are making.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
