A Longview student was arrested on March 18, 2025, following an investigation into a photo showing a firearm in a school restroom. The image, which began circulating online, prompted a swift response from the Longview Police School Resource Officer, who was alerted to the situation around 10:45 AM.
The investigation revealed that the incident occurred the evening before, March 17th, during an after-school event. Officers quickly detained the student involved. After a thorough investigation, the student was transported to the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of Exhibition, Use, or Threat of Exhibition or Use of Firearms, a third-degree felony.
