Bobby Wayne Land, a 48-year-old resident of Mineola, Texas, was sentenced to 210 months (17.5 years) in federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas.
On March 7, 2025, U.S. District Judge Jeremy Kernodle handed down the sentence after Land pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Court documents revealed that, on February 28, 2023, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Land’s residence in Van Zandt County, where they discovered approximately 205 grams of methamphetamine. Land admitted that the drugs were his and that he intended to distribute them to others.
Co-defendants Preston Mitchell Wilson and Danny Lynn Nabors were sentenced earlier in January 2025 to 120 months and 96 months in federal prison, respectively.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, along with the Grand Saline Police Department, Canton Police Department, and the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Jackson prosecuted the case.
