Paris Woman Arrested After Stolen SUV Found with Missing Property

A stolen SUV was recovered Wednesday evening, leading to the arrest of a Paris woman who admitted to taking the vehicle without permission.

According to the Paris Police Department, officers were notified of a vehicle theft after a victim reported her 2019 Ford EcoSport SUV missing from the parking lot of her business in the 1000 block of Clarksville. The owner had left the vehicle unlocked with the FOB key inside. She last saw it around 12:30 p.m. and noticed it was missing at 5:00 p.m. Her purse and other personal belongings were also inside.

Authorities entered the vehicle as stolen, and Lamar County Constables and the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force located it in the 2400 block of N. Main at 6:00 p.m. Officers detained the driver, identified as 43-year-old Theresa Michelle Davidson of Paris, and a passenger.

Davidson admitted to taking the SUV without permission, and officers discovered some of the victim’s property missing. With the passenger’s assistance, police recovered some of the stolen items. Officers also found that the suspects had used the victim’s credit cards for unauthorized purchases.

Davidson was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Credit Card Abuse. She was booked and processed at the Paris Police Department.
