Seven Inmates Charged After Riot at Liberty County Jail

Seven inmates at the Liberty County Jail have been charged with Riot Participation, a state jail felony, following a disturbance on Thursday, February 27.

The incident involved two dorm units where inmates barricaded doors, broke windows, and refused to comply with orders. Law enforcement quickly regained control of one dorm, while the second dorm remained uncooperative. Officers deployed chemical agents to force the inmates to surrender after approximately 30 minutes.

The following inmates have been charged:

  • Gabriel Martinez, 35, of Dayton – In custody for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (three counts).
  • Robert Losley, 36, of Dayton – In custody for Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
  • Justin Butcher, 36, of Dayton – In custody for Trespassing and Aggravated Assault/Family Violence.
  • Hector Ochoa, 19, of Cleveland – In custody for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance (three counts).
  • Ike Fiedler, 34, of Liberty – In custody for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and a parole hold.
  • Marty Jarrett, 40, of Cleveland – In custody for Theft of Property (two counts), Failure to Identify, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and additional charges in Harris County.
  • Christopher Collins, 24, of New Caney – In custody for Burglary of a Habitation.

No injuries were reported during the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
