Kayla Nicole O'Dell, 34, of Gladewater, a former education aide at Kilgore ISD, was arrested on February 19, 2025, and charged with improper relationship between educator and student.
Gregg County deputies arrested O'Dell, and she was booked into the Gregg County Jail.
Kilgore ISD officials stated that an investigation into O'Dell's conduct began in January 2025. O'Dell's employment with the district began in August 2023 and ended with her resignation on January 7, 2025, when the district began investigating possible educator misconduct.
The results of the district's investigation were then turned over to law enforcement.
O'Dell is being held in the Gregg County Jail with a bond set at $20,000.
