Repeat Offender Sentenced to 30 Years for Meth Possession in Henderson County

Clementino Olmos Lopez, Jr.

Clementino Olmos Lopez, Jr. has been sentenced to 30 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for possession of a controlled substance, according to the 392nd Judicial District Court.

Judge Scott McKee handed down the sentence, with Assistant District Attorney Daynah Fallwell representing the State.

On January 29, 2024, Eustace Police Chief Dan Huckabee conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Lopez for expired registration and no insurance. He also observed an open beer in the passenger seat.

During a pat-down for officer safety, Lopez attempted to remove an item from his pocket. Chief Huckabee discovered a clear crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. A subsequent search of Lopez's vehicle revealed a black bag containing a glass pipe, syringes, and a powdery substance.

Lopez was on parole at the time of the offense, serving a 50-year sentence for Burglary of Habitation from Denton County. He also has previous felony convictions from Dallas County for Tampering with Evidence, Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Escape, Felony Theft, and Forgery.
