Darnell Mayfield, 64, was arrested for felony theft after stealing items from a Brookshire's grocery store on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025.
Paris Police officers responded to a report of theft at the Brookshire's located in the 900 block of Clarksville Street. Store employees reported that a male suspect had concealed items in his pants and left the store without paying. They provided officers with a description of the suspect and his vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle and suspect, identified as Mayfield, in the 500 block of E. Price Street. Mayfield presented a receipt from the store, but officers discovered stolen meat products in his vehicle that were confirmed by Brookshire's employees as items that were not paid for.
Mayfield was arrested and charged with Theft under $2,500.00 with two or more prior convictions, a felony, due to his multiple previous theft convictions.
