A 17-year-old, Zykerian Jermond Richardson, was arrested for evading arrest after a high-speed chase in Paris on Friday, February 21st, 2025.
A Paris Police officer observed Richardson's vehicle traveling at an excessively high speed in the 2200 block of NW Loop 286. When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Richardson accelerated, attempting to evade the officer.
A pursuit ensued, ending at the intersection of SW Loop 286 and Sage Trail, where Richardson lost control of his vehicle while attempting to turn onto Sage Trail and slid into a ditch.
Richardson was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, a felony. He was transported to the Paris Police Department for booking. No injuries were reported.
Richardson is a junior at Paris High School and a member of their JV football team.
