Two individuals were arrested Monday, February 17th, in Paris after a traffic stop in the 1300 block of W. Shiloh revealed drugs and a firearm.
Officers initiated the stop for an improper tag return and identified the driver as 26-year-old Brian Ulises Hernandez Holguin and the passenger as 43-year-old Christy Renaye Spencer. During the stop, officers observed open containers of alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle. As the officers requested both occupants to exit the vehicle, a noise was heard, and a handgun was later found on the ground next to the passenger side.
A consensual search of the vehicle uncovered narcotics, though both Holguin and Spencer denied any knowledge of the drugs or the handgun. Both individuals were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. Holguin was additionally charged with displaying a fictitious tag, and Spencer had outstanding Municipal warrants.
