Farmersville Man Sentenced to 47 Years for Meth Trafficking After Crime Spree

Mike Douglas Stoker

Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced today that Mike Douglas Stoker, 44, of Farmersville, Texas, was sentenced to 47 years in prison after a jury convicted him of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

Stoker, a career criminal with a history of felony convictions, was linked to a series of thefts and burglaries in Collin and Hunt Counties in April and May of 2024. Investigator Tristan Varvil of the Collin County Sheriff’s Office traced the crimes to Stoker, who was caught in May using a stolen truck to steal an ATM from a convenience store. Though Stoker fled the scene, his accomplice was arrested, leading investigators to execute a search warrant at Stoker's residence.

Inside, they found over 70 grams of methamphetamine, along with scales, baggies, and prepped doses for distribution. The investigation revealed evidence of drug trafficking and sales, including dozens of drug sale conversations found on Stoker’s phone. McKinney Police Narcotics Detective Joe Arp testified that Stoker possessed enough meth for more than 280 doses.

Stoker’s lengthy criminal history, which includes 17 prior convictions, was presented during the trial. He had previously served multiple prison terms, including time in federal prison for firearm offenses, and was on parole at the time of his 2024 crimes. Under Texas law, his past sentences mandated a minimum of 25 years in prison, and Judge Benjamin Smith sentenced him to 47 years.

Collin County DA Greg Willis emphasized, “For decades, Mike Stoker has stolen, sold poison, and shattered lives... Behind bars, he can’t do it again.”
