Jajuan Lee Bonds, 22, of Little Rock, Arkansas, has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of a machinegun, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr. on February 7, 2025.
Bonds was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone following an incident on July 21, 2022, when a Corrigan Police Department officer stopped Bonds’ vehicle and discovered what appeared to be marijuana in a clear plastic baggie. During a search of the vehicle, the officer found a firearm equipped with a machinegun conversion device, commonly known as a "Glock Switch." The modified handgun was also reported as stolen.
Under federal law, a machinegun is defined as a weapon capable of firing more than one shot automatically with a single pull of the trigger.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a collaborative program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence by bringing together law enforcement and communities.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Corrigan Police Department, and was prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Tommy Coleman.
