A woman was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer while attempting to cross Interstate 35 near New Road late Saturday night.
The Waco Police Department received a call at 10:59 p.m. on February 8, 2025, about an individual dressed in all black crossing the freeway. While officers were en route, a second call reported an auto-pedestrian crash in the same area.
Upon arrival, officers found the woman deceased at the scene. The initial investigation determined that a northbound tractor-trailer hit her as she attempted to cross the interstate. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The victim's identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is ongoing.
