On February 4, 2025, the Fate Department of Public Safety arrested a resident of Fate on three counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence.
The arrest followed a two-month investigation initiated by a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which was received by the Dallas Police Department's ICAC Unit.
On February 4th, Fate DPS CID detectives, along with investigators from the Rockwall Police Department, executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence. The search resulted in the discovery of evidence related to the possession of child pornography and the seizure of electronic devices.
The suspect, David Wayne Johnson, was arrested and transported to the Rockwall County Detention Center without incident. His bond was set at $340,000.
