On Sunday afternoon, February 2, 2025, Sulphur Springs Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on League Street. Officers arrived to find a 78-year-old victim who had been punched in the face and pushed during an altercation. Emergency medical personnel treated the victim at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Sheila Jo Knutson, was located in her apartment and was determined to be intoxicated. She admitted to being involved in a fight with the victim. Knutson was taken into custody and charged with Injury to an Elderly Person with Intent to Cause Bodily Injury.
Authorities have not released the relationship between the suspect and the victim as the investigation remains ongoing.
