On Saturday, February 1, 2025, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Longview police were notified by a citizen who discovered a possible body in a wooded area in the 4700 block of Tanglewood. Officers responded to the scene and identified the deceased as 21-year-old Nyah Newton, who had been reported missing by police on January 10, 2025.
Authorities stated that there were no obvious signs of foul play, but an autopsy has been requested. The investigation remains ongoing. Investigators have met with Newton’s family to provide updates on the case.
