On Friday afternoon, January 31st, 50-year-old Jerry Jerome Bowser Jr. of Sherwood, AR, was arrested in Texarkana after being identified as the suspect in a murder that occurred in Little Rock the day before. Texarkana police received word that Bowser might be in the area and quickly located his vehicle at the Comfort Suites motel on the 200 block of Richill Dr. Investigators confirmed Bowser had checked into the hotel the night prior.
As the Special Investigations Unit and Texas DPS set up outside his room, Bowser exited and was immediately confronted by officers. When he refused to comply with their commands, officers used a JPX pepper gun, striking him with two rounds to subdue him. At the time of his arrest, Bowser had a pistol tucked into his waistband but was unable to reach for it.
Bowser was taken into custody and booked into the Bi-State Jail on a capital murder warrant from Little Rock. He is scheduled to be extradited back to Arkansas to face charges in connection with the January 30th shooting at the Chenal Place Apartments on Reservoir Road. Little Rock police reported that officers discovered a woman dead from apparent gunshot wounds at the scene around 11:15 a.m. that morning.
