On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, a Paris Police Officer responded to a disturbance initially reported in the 2400 block of North Main Street. Upon arrival in the 3000 block of NE Loop 286, the officer spoke with an 84-year-old man who stated that his 38-year-old family member, Jessica Leigh Wintermute, had assaulted him and his 69-year-old wife. Wintermute, who lives with the couple, was reportedly intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The officer observed visible injuries on the male victim and took Wintermute into custody. She was charged with two counts of third-degree Felony Injury to a Child, Elderly, Disabled Individual W/Intent to Cause Bodily Injury. Wintermute was booked into the Paris Jail without further incident.
