24-year-old Dillon Austin Venson of Pocahontas, Arkansas, was convicted and sentenced to two consecutive 20-year prison terms and a $10,000 fine for the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl.
Evidence presented during the trial revealed that Venson, while visiting the victim at her family home in Queen City, Texas, engaged in multiple acts of sexual abuse. These incidents included touching the victim inappropriately and forcing her to touch him.
The victim, identified as "Rose" in court documents, bravely reported the abuse to her mother. A forensic interview conducted at the Texarkana Children's Advocacy Center further corroborated her account.
"This case highlights the courage of a child victim who came forward to seek justice," stated Assistant District Attorney Nick Ross. "We are grateful for her bravery and the support she received."
Venson will serve 40 years in prison without the possibility of parole.
