On Saturday, January 25, 2025, Harrison County deputies assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in a pursuit on Interstate 20 involving a suspect vehicle evading law enforcement.
The pursuit began with the suspect traveling westbound on I-20 before turning through a ditch and heading eastbound. A Harrison County deputy used their vehicle to block the suspect from entering oncoming traffic, prioritizing public safety. The deputy’s vehicle was disabled during the maneuver, but no injuries were reported.
DPS units were able to apprehend the suspect shortly after. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Albert Griffin IV of Arlington, was booked into the Harrison County Jail. Griffin faces multiple charges, including Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle, Deadly Conduct, Failure to Identify as a Fugitive from Justice, Possession of Marijuana, and three traffic violations.
Authorities also confirmed that Griffin had an outstanding warrant from Ellis County for Violation of Parole. The incident remains under investigation.
