Mt. Vernon ISD has announced the hiring of Travis McClain as the new Athletic Director and Head Coach for the Mt. Vernon Tigers. Coach McClain joins the district with 10 years of coaching experience, including two years at Rivercrest ISD and eight years at Celina ISD. He is a graduate of Baylor University.
Coach McClain is set to begin his new role immediately and has expressed enthusiasm about connecting with the community and helping student-athletes excel both on and off the field.
Accompanying Coach McClain in his move to Mt. Vernon are his wife Kelley, their daughters Laney and Parker Jane, and their son Callahan “Bo.”
Mt. Vernon ISD welcomes the McClain family and looks forward to the positive impact Coach McClain will bring to the district's athletic programs.
