On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Henderson Police arrested Kathryn Laraine Prior, a 35-year-old agriculture teacher at Henderson ISD, for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student.
The investigation began after Henderson ISD reported the matter to authorities. Police allege that Prior exchanged inappropriate photos and text messages with the student and had inappropriate physical contact with the victim.
Police advised the school district that they had arrested the teacher. Henderson ISD has placed Prior on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Prior is charged with Possession of Child Pornography between 10 and 50 visual depictoins, Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact and Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. Her bond was set at $150,000 and she remains in custody at the Rusk County Jail.
The Henderson Police Department thanked the Henderson Independent School District for their cooperation during the investigation.
