On Tuesday, December 10, Paris Police responded to a disturbance in the 3200 block of Clarksville Street. Officers arrived to find a 13-year-old girl in a parking lot wearing only a T-shirt and shorts, despite frigid temperatures.
The juvenile, identified as the victim, informed officers that a household member had assaulted her. She was placed in a patrol vehicle to keep warm while officers interviewed the suspect, who was reportedly intoxicated.
The suspect admitted to assaulting the girl but claimed it was a form of discipline. The victim reported being struck and choked by the suspect and showed visible injuries consistent with her account.
The girl's father was contacted and took custody of her. Police have confirmed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
