On Tuesday, December 10th, Harrison County deputies arrived at a home on Quail Lane in Longview to serve a felony warrant for 24-year-old Nathanal "Nate" Lynn Howard. The warrant, issued in Wood County, was for Theft of Property valued between $2,500 and $30,000.
When deputies entered the residence, Howard resisted arrest but was successfully taken into custody. While being questioned outside the home, Howard escaped custody, leading deputies on a foot chase across a field behind his house. He ultimately surrendered and was secured in the back of a patrol car.
In addition to the theft charge, Howard now faces two additional charges: Resisting Arrest and Escape While Arrested. His bond for the theft warrant was set at $25,000, while bond decisions for the new charges are pending.
