Commerce Independent School District has appointed new leadership at both Commerce Middle School and Commerce Elementary School, as announced this morning.
Patricia Nelle has been named the new principal of Commerce Middle School, while Haley McDonald will take on the role of principal at Commerce Elementary School.
The announcement follows the departure of former middle school principal Lisa Palazzetti, who had been placed on administrative leave in November. A letter from the district on November 25 clarified that Palazzetti's leave was unrelated to any unlawful, unethical, or immoral conduct.

In addition, Darcie Rochester is transitioning from her position as counselor at Commerce Middle School to become the new Assistant Principal at Commerce Elementary. Mrs. Rochester brings 12 years of educational experience, including 5 years teaching Pre-K through 1st grade and 7 years as a school counselor. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Letourneau University, a Master’s in School Counseling from Angelo State University, and has earned her principal certification through iTeach.
