Juan Carlos Rodriguez, Sr., 50, of Tyler, Texas, has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for his role in a counterfeit documents scheme, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs.
Rodriguez pleaded guilty to fraud and misuse of visas, permits, and other documents and received his sentence from U.S. District Judge J. Campbell Barker on December 4, 2024.
Court records show that in January 2024, Rodriguez produced counterfeit permanent resident and Social Security cards for three individuals, charging $450. In March 2024, he created fraudulent documents for an additional eight individuals, receiving $1,200. A federal search warrant executed at his residence uncovered more than 25 fraudulent identification documents in various stages of production, along with equipment used to create the items.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Smith County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan R. Jackson prosecuted the case.
