Last Wednesday afternoon at 2:35 p.m., a Paris Police officer observed a vehicle illegally parked with its rear partially in the roadway in the 1400 block of Sperry Avenue. Upon exiting his patrol unit, the officer saw the driver step out of the vehicle and identified him as Berlyn Don Stuckey, 58.
For safety, the officer requested that Stuckey remove his hands from his pants pockets, but Stuckey refused to comply. As the officer attempted to detain and handcuff him, Stuckey resisted, pulling a glass tube with a bowl on the end from one pocket and a can of tobacco from another, tossing them into the truck bed away from the officer.
The officer detained Stuckey without further incident. He was booked on charges including Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine, Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, and two additional misdemeanor drug offenses.
