Paris Police responded to a parking lot accident on Monday afternoon, November 25, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the 2000 block of Lamar Avenue. During the investigation, a witness revealed that a female driver had asked him to take the blame for the accident and claim he was driving. The witness stated that he had last seen the female inside a nearby business.
Officers located the suspect, identified as 54-year-old Zenobia Lynn Helsel, hiding in the company’s bathroom with the door open and lights off, standing behind the door. Helsel, who was not an employee of the business, had walked through the kitchen and behind the desk to the nonpublic bathroom.
Helsel was arrested for Accident Involving Damage to a Vehicle over $200, a Misdemeanor B charge. Additionally, she had an outstanding felony warrant for Abandon Endanger Child Criminal Negligence from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
