On Saturday night, November 23, 2024, a wrong-way collision on Interstate 30 in Greenville resulted in the deaths of three people, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The crash occurred around 9:15 PM, prompting a response from the Greenville Fire Department, Hunt County EMS, Greenville Police Department, and Texas DPS troopers. Emergency responders arrived to find two vehicles involved in a head-on collision, both of which had caught fire.
DPS reported that the crash was caused by a driver traveling the wrong way on the interstate. All three individuals involved in the crash died at the scene. The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
The crash closed all eastbound lanes of I-30 for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene and investigate.
