On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the Paris Police Department received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 4000 block of Old Bonham Road. The victim told officers they had left the keys in the vehicle the previous evening and discovered it missing the next morning.
Officers later located the stolen truck in the George Wright Homes area, where they found several items inside that had been stolen in vehicle burglaries reported the same day. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had entered an apartment within the complex.
With permission to search the apartment, officers found a 16-year-old juvenile suspect sleeping upstairs. The suspect was in possession of a stolen firearm from a previous vehicle burglary on November 18.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of a Firearm.
