On November 19, 2024, at approximately 12:17 a.m., Longview Police responded to a report of deadly conduct in the 1300 block of Lawndale Street. While on the scene, officers identified a vehicle that had been reported stolen just an hour earlier. A brief pursuit ensued, ending when the suspect vehicle crashed into a vacant building after striking a nearby home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported at any of the involved locations.
The suspect, 18-year-old Xavier Tennison, was arrested and booked into the Gregg County Jail. Tennison faces multiple charges, including:
- Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle (Felony 3)
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Felony 2)
- Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle (State Jail Felony)
- Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (Class A Misdemeanor)
