The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Greenville Electric Utility System (GEUS) with its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the entity's 2024 budget. This prestigious recognition highlights GEUS’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in governmental budgeting.
To earn the award, GEUS’s budget had to meet nationally recognized guidelines across four key categories: policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device. The budget was evaluated on its proficiency in 14 mandatory criteria within these areas.
This recognition places GEUS among over 1,700 entities that have participated in the GFOA’s Budget Awards Program, showcasing its role as a leader in improving budgeting practices and providing an exemplary model for other governments across North America.
