On the night of November 12th, Grayson County deputies served a warrant at a residence in the 8000 block of West Farmington Road in Gunter, apprehending 34-year-old Michael Ferguson, wanted on multiple felony warrants. Deputies had probable cause to enter the home, where they encountered two other individuals, Colton Harrell and Daniel Hall, who claimed they were unaware of Ferguson’s whereabouts. Despite their statements, deputies located Ferguson hiding in the laundry room.
During the operation, deputies seized methamphetamine and approximately $1,000 in counterfeit U.S. currency. Ferguson was arrested on his outstanding warrants and an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Harrell and Hall were also taken into custody on charges of Hindering Prosecution of a Known Felon.
While in the area, deputies conducted a separate arrest for Lori Kellis, who had an outstanding warrant. Ferguson later admitted to using the counterfeit money to purchase controlled substances. Grayson County authorities have asked that any individuals who may have unknowingly received counterfeit currency from Ferguson contact the Sheriff’s Office to file a report.
