Teen Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit of Stolen Truck in Friendswood Ends in Crash

On the morning of November 4, 2024, Friendswood Police received a report from a resident of the Huntington Woods apartments who discovered his truck had been stolen overnight, keys left in the vehicle. Officers located the truck at 8:33 a.m. at the intersection of N. Texas Avenue and W. Medical Center Blvd. in Webster, where they attempted to pull over the driver. The driver fled, leading police on a high-speed chase that ended when the truck crashed off-road in the 3100 block of Nasa Rd 1.

The driver, a 16-year-old male, and his passenger, identified as 17-year-old Olivia Rocha of Bacliff, attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended by officers. Charges were filed against the juvenile driver for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading in a Motor Vehicle, while Rocha faces a charge of Evading on Foot. The truck was recovered and returned to its owner.

The Friendswood Police Department thanked Webster Police, Harris County Pct. 8, League City Police, and Seabrook Police for their assistance in the incident.
