City of Greenville Seeks New Director of Human Resources

The City of Greenville is actively searching for a Director of Human Resources to lead its HR division and support the city's evolving landscape. With Greenville transitioning from a cotton production hub to a leader in robotics, aerospace technology, and manufacturing, the city has seen a growth boom of 12% in recent years. This expansion has brought dozens of new restaurants, shops, and attractions, enhancing the community for both residents and visitors.

The new Director of Human Resources will be integral to the city's operations, directing staff and activities related to recruitment, payroll, training and development, worker's compensation, risk management, benefits, and civil service activities. Under the guidance of the City Manager, the director will develop and implement personnel policies, providing strategic leadership and fostering a positive work environment characterized by clear communication, employee development, and mutual respect.

Candidates for the position should hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, public administration, or a related field, with a master’s degree preferred. A minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including staffing, benefits, compensation, employee relations, training, and risk management, is required, along with at least one year in a management role. Local government experience and knowledge of civil service procedures are preferred. A valid Texas driver’s license must be maintained throughout employment.

The salary range for the Director of Human Resources position is $87,568 to $139,838, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
